The handbook for limited government that upholds freedom is the living Bible, flowing from the Creator-based attitude (Philippians 2:5, 2:3 and 4) that empowers citizens in matters of moral, family and community standards. The American Republic has served the people far and above that of any other form of government. Blessed with a God-given conscience (if not defiled by harmful education), the Bible and knowledge of history, freedom-lovers have the advantage over secular religions.
In contrast, Karl Marx sides with the pride of Darwinian atheism and appeals for the “abolition of the family.” “The bourgeois clap-trap about the family and education, about the hallowed correlation of parent and child” is “disgusting” (Manifesto of the Communist Party, 1848; and search online with “Charles-Darwin/racism/the-darwinian-foundation-of-communism”).
Socialist and Marxist government philosophies fail because they are based upon the arbitrary rule of man rather than the Higher Authority rule of law. Morality is the backbone for the rule of law; it hinges on the difference between right and wrong. Those who advocate absolutes (such as, thou shall not steal, murder, lie, etc.) are not prudes. It is the secular enemies of the traditional family, citizen self-rule and limited government who are raising havoc.
The strides now made by Marxists in many American law schools and universities are breathtaking. Today, in this second decade of the 21st century, the law schools invaded by deceptive definitions of justice appear to be inspiring cultural and education tyranny nationwide. The legitimate concern—have many law schools become sanctuary cities? At an American Enterprise Institute event, The Close-Minded Campus?, speakers outlined how self-identifying Marxist professors outnumber conservatives on college campuses. About 18 percent of social scientists in the United States self-identify as Marxists, compared to only about five percent who identify as conservatives, speakers reported (Jenna Lawrence, July 13, 2016). My friend and neighbor, an excellent former Ames Public School Superintendent, observed this in law school.
Nothing is more known as the enemy of man and foe of civilization as the opponents of traditional God-honoring education demanded by totalitarians. For that specific reason, adults at the local level, not the central federal authorities, have the exclusive right to control what is taught in public schools. Local citizens elect like-minded school board members to see that family values, community civility and American history, such as are emphasized in this article, be taught to new generations.
