Upon one pillar, the family unit, more than any other, stands each individual’s development, strength and independence for prosperity. A key factor affecting the survival of a strong family is a wise standard for sexual behavior. Quoting historians Will and Ariel Durant in The Lessons of History, “… no one man, however brilliant or well-informed, can come in one lifetime to such fullness of understanding as to safely judge and dismiss the customs or institutions of his society, for these are the wisdom of generations after centuries of experiment in the laboratory of history. A youth boiling with hormones will wonder why he should not give full freedom to his sexual desires. If he is unchecked by custom, morals or laws, he may ruin his life before he matures sufficiently to understand that sex is a river of fire that must be banked and cooled by a hundred restraints if it is not to consume in chaos both the individual and the group.”*
If one wanted to destroy human dignity and personal freedom, and force people to willingly accept a dictatorship, the family would be a logical place to attack. And the most effective place of attack? Bypass parents and strike at the vulnerable point—the captive audience of inexperienced youth.
Let’s create a master plan to accomplish this goal, hypothetically speaking… Attack by unleashing the river of fire from the restraints of society by 1) destroying the natural modesty and the protective cloak of personal dignity and sacredness in which sex is held by boys and girls, 2) overpowering the ability to contain themselves sexually until they establish a sound relationship of marriage, 3) subverting natural law and develop a confusion in the boundaries for healthy sexual activity and understanding of genders, 4) discrediting God and belief in His teachings of what is right and wrong.
Great plan! Now how to effectively implement the plan… Luring stories and wicked possibilities that could not reach the mind of youth without adult implantation would be taught under the banner of literature and art. “They ought to know.” Destruction could be accomplished through curriculum changes and library books in the public schools and universities. Let’s secure the support of the young people and dissuade teachers and parents from opposition. Make alliances with any academic group, school board or union that would help remove the control of curriculum from adult taxpayers. Eliminate school codes of conduct that set good standards of propriety for students and use of school dorms. Pimp codes that “liberate” and allow illicit sexual activity among students in publicly owned schools could be enforced by school administrators. Meanwhile, establish substitutes for powerful warnings of the terrible mental, physical, emotional, and economic repercussions of sexual perversion and promiscuity. Emphasize the benefits of medical treatment, contraceptives and abortion. Praise reprobates by calling them “brave” and “heroic.” Make citizens who believe in life-benefiting sexual standards feel they are alone, unnecessarily wary or prudish. Make them feel ashamed of their beliefs as we normalize perversion right before their very eyes.
This running battle would just need two or three generations to sufficiently pollute and gain popular support for the removal of laws and traditions.
Wait a minute.
This is already happening. Leftists are seeking to destroy the family through education. They have subtly made the classroom free from parental power. They teach that which encourages immorality, perversion and political subversion. The selection and tenure of teachers and superintendents have been removed from the ballot box and sensitive local taxpayer control. Teachers and professors lose their jobs if they reject nihilistic ideas in favor of a traditional cultural emphasis. Students are encouraged to worship education, holding it up as being above political recourse and beyond the realm of criticism. They are “emancipating” the minds of youth from moral responsibility. The above techniques would ultimately accomplish the destruction of liberty, and to the extent that they are going on today, we are seeing the decay of our civilization.
Parents have noticed and they’ve had enough. As they love their children more than anyone else on this earth, they’re choosing to take a stand, saving their children from destruction. Ultimately, they are saving American culture and liberty. Americans want freedom and not enslavement.

Reader’s Digest Introduction to The Lessons of History—“This book is the culmination of one of the great scholarly achievements of our time, a ten-volume series, The Story of Civilization, hailed by the eminent historian Allan Nevins as ‘one of the outstanding works of American historiography.’ The Lessons of History is the summary of this monumental enterprise, the distillation of what the experience of 20 civilizations over a period of 4,000 years can tell us about man’s long journey through war, conquest, creation and self-exploration.”
